For people who would like to know what I ate today or would like to read some of my thoughts on food.
eat eat eat
Welcome to a record of what I eat. A year or so ago, I read about a book called, “No One Cares What You Had for Lunch: 100 Ideas for Your Blog”. Personally, I would love to read someone’s record of what they had for lunch. In fact, I would love it if you started keeping a list of things you eat in a place where I could read it. Think about it.
My primary purpose here is to look at what I eat. I like for my diet to be made up of as many whole foods as possible and one way I gauge this is by looking at the food I buy as it lays on the counter or conveyor belt at the grocery or on the counter in my kitchen before I put it away. This is really the only time I look at my food before I eat it or cook with it. So this record will be like a version of that, but of what it is that I did with that food. It’s likely not of interest to many.
This morning for breakfast I had oatmeal with blueberries, strawberries, and brown sugar and a cup of coffee. And some water.
See? That’s the sort of thing that’s going to be the bulk of what I write here.
Today for lunch I had leftover stir-fry and a few bites of an egg and cheese sandwich and a few bites of plum that my baby didn’t finish. In between breakfast and lunch I had a rice cake with peanut butter and bananas.
Don’t let that “whole foods” thing make you think I eat extraordinarily healthfully. I eat ice cream approximately 6-7 times a week. This week it will only be six because I had cheesecake last night. But I try to eat as healthfully as I can for meals so that I can eat lots of yummy desserts. I’m also no “foodie.” I don’t particularly like fancy food; I like good food.
Thanks for being here. If you never return, I’ll understand.
